Death By Donuts Branding
Death By Donuts is a concept designer toy series intended to be released under the Kidrobot brand. All illustrations displayed are meant to depict what would be three dimensional figurines if they're produced and sold to the public.
The underlying ideas behind the designer toy movement have largely remained the same since they were first introduced in Asia in the mid-1990s: Create a character that would be popular with kids, and twist it into something more edgy, more adult. This is why many people consider designer toys to not really be toys. With that in mind, I wanted to take something as harmless and beloved as donuts and spin them into characters with an evil, psychotic persona, all while maintaining a lighthearted, humorous vibe that wouldn’t scare parents away from buying them for their kids.
